Frequently Asked Questions

What does the "N" in Phaser 6600N mean, and does it change the cartridge?

The N marks the networked version of the printer — it connects to your office network so a whole workgroup can print to it. It changes how jobs reach the machine, not what feeds it: the cyan position still takes the same 106R02225 cartridge as every other model in the family. Suffix letters on this platform describe printer features, never different toner.

Our shared printer's blues have gone washed out. Is this the fix?

Very likely, yes. On a workgroup machine the cyan supply drains steadily through everyone's charts, screenshots and color headings, and the fade shows up exactly as you describe — pale blues, greyish skies, greens that look tired — while black text stays sharp. That pattern is a low cyan cartridge announcing itself, and this 106R02225 is the replacement.

Which models share this cyan cartridge?

The whole platform: Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600N, Phaser 6600DN, Phaser 6600YDN, WorkCentre 6605 and WorkCentre 6605DN. A networked 6600N and a desktop 6605 draw from the same spare.

How far does one cartridge go on a shared machine?

It is rated at up to 6,000 pages at 5% coverage. Shared machines live a mixed life — plenty of near-text pages that barely touch cyan, punctuated by color-heavy jobs that draw it down quickly — so most workgroups find the rating a fair planning figure, and the low-toner warning the right moment to have the next one on the shelf.

What does cyan cost per page here?

At $40.71 for a cartridge rated at 6,000 pages, the cyan component runs about 0.68 cents per page. For a shared printer, that is the number that matters when the office manager asks what the color output is costing.

What backing does the cartridge carry?

A 1-year warranty and free returns for a full year, with the full terms on our shipping and returns page. Orders leave our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA — the closest one ships yours — and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
