Frequently Asked Questions

Does two-sided printing change how quickly these cartridges run out?

Toner use follows printed pages, not sheets of paper. A duplex job prints on both sides of the sheet, so the page counter — and toner consumption — climbs at the same rate as the same document printed single-sided; you save paper, not toner. On a DN model that lives on double-sided documents, expect the page ratings to be reached on roughly half as many physical sheets.

What is included in this set?

One high-yield cartridge for each of the four positions: 106R02228 black, 106R02225 cyan, 106R02226 magenta and 106R02227 yellow. That quartet is the full toner family for the Phaser 6600DN, so the order covers every slot in a single box.

Why does the black cartridge carry the largest rating?

The 106R02228 black is rated at up to 8,000 pages, against up to 6,000 pages for each color. Duplex machines in offices are document engines first — reports, contracts, invoices — and that work is overwhelmingly black. The capacity split mirrors the workload: the cartridge doing the heavy lifting is the one built biggest. Ratings are quoted at 5% coverage, so dense pages will move through any cartridge faster.

Which models is this set listed for?

It is named for the Phaser 6600DN and fits the rest of the platform on the same fitting: the Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600N and Phaser 6600YDN, together with the WorkCentre 6605 and WorkCentre 6605DN multifunctions. The DN's duplex unit changes how paper moves, not which cartridges the machine takes.

Can I change one cartridge partway through a long duplex run?

Yes. When the printer stops on an empty position, swap that single cartridge for its replacement from the set and resume; the other three are unaffected. Keep the unused remainder of the set sealed and flat in storage — there is no need to refresh all four together just because one has finished.

What returns and support terms apply to the set?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns are included, with the complete terms on our shipping and returns page. We dispatch from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and our support team is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
