Frequently Asked Questions

When does it make sense to buy the whole set rather than one cartridge?

When the second color warning follows the first within a few weeks. Cartridges installed together tend to run down together, so a machine that has just emptied one slot is usually close on the others. Ordering the full group at that point means the remaining swaps happen from your own shelf instead of becoming three more urgent orders. If only one color has ever run low and the rest still read near full, a single cartridge is the smarter buy.

What four cartridges are in the box?

One of each cartridge this platform uses: 106R02228 in black, 106R02225 in cyan, 106R02226 in magenta and 106R02227 in yellow. Together they cover every toner position in the printer, so nothing else needs to be ordered alongside. Each one is a high-yield cartridge, which is the capacity line this set is drawn from.

Why is the black cartridge rated at 8,000 pages when the colors are 6,000?

The black cartridge is simply built with more capacity. Text and everyday documents lean almost entirely on black, so the 106R02228 carries an up to 8,000-page rating, while the cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges are each rated at up to 6,000 pages. Both figures assume the standard 5% coverage test page; a color-heavy workload will drain the colors sooner than the ratings suggest, and light text printing can stretch black further.

Which printers does this set fit?

The whole 6600/6605 family: Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600N, Phaser 6600DN and Phaser 6600YDN, along with the WorkCentre 6605 and WorkCentre 6605DN. Printers and multifunctions in this range share the same toner fitting; the suffix letters only mark out network, duplex and configuration differences.

Can I fit one cartridge now and keep the other three sealed?

Yes — that is exactly how a set is meant to be used. Replace only the position the printer flags as empty and leave the rest in their packaging, stored flat and away from direct light and heat. Sealed toner keeps well, so the remaining cartridges will be ready weeks or months later when their turn comes.

What protection and delivery terms come with this set?

Every set carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns; the details live on our shipping and returns page. We dispatch from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, choosing the closest stocking point for your delivery address, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you want a hand matching part numbers before ordering.
