Frequently Asked Questions

Why are there five cartridges in this set when the printer only has four slots?

Because the fifth cartridge is a shelf spare, not a fifth position. The set covers all four part numbers the machine uses, with one extra cartridge beyond a standard four-piece restock. Whichever position runs out first — in most offices that is black — its replacement is already on site, and the printer is back in service in minutes instead of after a delivery wait.

Which part numbers make up the set?

The high-yield group for this platform: 106R02228 black, 106R02225 cyan, 106R02226 magenta and 106R02227 yellow. Those four codes are the complete cartridge family for the 6600/6605 machines, and the five cartridges in the box are drawn from that group. Checking the codes against the labels inside your printer door is the reliable way to confirm a match.

What page ratings do the cartridges carry?

Each black cartridge is rated at up to 8,000 pages, and each color cartridge — cyan, magenta or yellow — at up to 6,000 pages, all measured at the standard 5% page coverage. Real life varies: presentation decks and color graphics consume color toner far faster than the test page, while plain correspondence can run past it. Treat the ratings as a comparison scale between cartridges rather than a promise for your workload.

Which printers will this set work with?

Any model in the shared Phaser 6600 and WorkCentre 6605 range: the Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600N, Phaser 6600DN and Phaser 6600YDN, plus the WorkCentre 6605 and WorkCentre 6605DN multifunctions. The variant letters describe features such as networking and duplexing; the toner bay is the same across the family.

How should I store the spare cartridge until it is needed?

Leave it sealed in its original packaging, lying flat in a cool, dry cupboard away from windows and radiators. Toner is a fine powder in a sealed unit, so an unopened cartridge stored sensibly stays in good condition for a long period. Open it only when the printer actually calls for that position, and fit it straight away.

What cover does the purchase include?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns come as standard, with full terms set out on our shipping and returns page. Parcels leave from our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and our support team answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if anything about the codes or the fit is unclear.

About This 5 Color Set for the Xerox 6600

Priced at $129.62, this five-cartridge set restocks the high-yield 6600-platform group — 106R02228 black rated up to 8,000 pages and 106R02225 cyan, 106R02226 magenta and 106R02227 yellow rated up to 6,000 pages each — and adds a spare so the first empty position never stops the printer. It suits offices that print daily and cannot park a job while toner is in transit. More of the brand's range is on our Xerox toner page.
