Frequently Asked Questions

Why buy the three colours together instead of replacing them one at a time?

Because on a workgroup machine the three colours rarely live separate lives. Every colour page — a chart here, a logo there, a photo somewhere else — draws a little from all three bays, so cyan, magenta and yellow age side by side and tend to run low in the same season. Refreshing them as a matched trio in a single order keeps the colour balance even, avoids three separate delivery waits, and means the printer is opened up once rather than three times. For a machine that a whole team leans on, that tidiness is most of the point.

Exactly which cartridges are in this set?

One cartridge for each colour bay of the 6600 platform: the cyan is coded 106R02225, the magenta is 106R02226 and the yellow is 106R02227. Each of the three is a high-yield unit rated at 6,000 pages. Black is deliberately not in this box — the black cartridge for these machines is a separate listing — so this set is purely the colour side of the printer, the part that decides how your charts, photographs and brand colours come out.

What does the set cost per cartridge, and per page?

The box is $85.17 for three cartridges, which works out to $28.39 per cartridge. Since each cartridge is rated at 6,000 pages, the set carries 18,000 rated colour pages in total, putting the running cost at roughly 0.47 cents per page. Those figures rest on the industry-standard 5% page coverage that yield ratings assume; a page filled edge to edge with colour spends toner far faster than that, so graphics-heavy work will see fewer pages per cartridge than the rating suggests.

Half our 6605's work is colour copying rather than printing. Does that matter?

It matters only in how quickly the cartridges empty, not in which ones you buy. The WorkCentre 6605 copies, scans and prints around the same engine, and a colour copy spends cyan, magenta and yellow in exactly the way a colour print does. A copy-heavy office will therefore cycle through this set sooner than the headline ratings imply — worth knowing when you plan how often to reorder — but the set itself is the same one the printer-only models use.

Which machines is this set made for?

It serves the whole 6600/6605 family: the Phaser 6600, the networked Phaser 6600dn and Phaser 6600ydn, and the multifunction WorkCentre 6605dn alongside the plainer 6605. Printer and multifunction versions are built on the same engine and share the same three colour codes — 106R02225, 106R02226 and 106R02227 — so one set on the shelf covers whichever of them asks for colour first.

What warranty and returns cover come with the set?

Each cartridge is backed by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns: if a unit streaks, leaks or gives up early, it goes back for a replacement or a refund instead of sitting forgotten in a drawer. Orders are dispatched from the nearest of our four warehouses — IL, PA, GA or CA — and a person is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you would rather talk than read. Delivery costs, timescales and the returns procedure are set out in full on our shipping & returns page.

About This Colour Trio for the Phaser 6600 and WorkCentre 6605

This set gathers the three high-yield colour cartridges of the 6600 platform into one box — cyan 106R02225, magenta 106R02226 and yellow 106R02227, each rated at 6,000 pages, 18,000 pages across the three — for $85.17. It is aimed at offices whose colour output has to stay consistent: replacing the trio together keeps mixed colours honest, because no ageing cartridge is left dragging down the balance of two fresh ones. The set fits the printer-only models such as the Phaser 6600n as readily as the copying WorkCentre machines, and the black cartridge for the platform is ordered separately. The wider range for these machines lives in the Xerox section of the store, and every cartridge in this box is covered by the 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns described above.
