Frequently Asked Questions

Why do my blues look greenish and faces look yellow and sallow?

That is a color-balance problem with one usual cause: the magenta is running out. Magenta is the ingredient that keeps blues honest and skin tones natural; as the 006R01511 fades, blues slide toward green and faces lose their warmth long before the machine declares anything empty. On a WorkCentre 7535, drifting colors with one suspect are a magenta cartridge asking to be replaced.

Can I change just the magenta, or does the machine want a whole new set?

Just the magenta. The four cartridges in these WorkCentres are independent supplies — each one is removed, replaced and tracked separately, and changing one never obliges you to touch the other three. Buy the color the printer is actually missing; this listing is that single magenta cartridge.

How long does 15,000 pages of magenta last in a normal office?

Longer than most people expect. The 15,000-page rating counts pages of color work, and in a typical office most pages are black text that barely touches the magenta — so one cartridge often covers many months of mixed printing. At $96.46 it works out near 0.64 cents per rated page. Offices printing color presentations daily will cycle through it faster; the rating, not the calendar, is the measure.

Which printers share this cartridge with the 7535?

The same 006R01511 magenta fits the WorkCentre 7525, WorkCentre 7530, WorkCentre 7545, WorkCentre 7556, WorkCentre 7830, WorkCentre 7835, WorkCentre 7845, WorkCentre 7855 and WorkCentre 7970 as well — one magenta across the whole platform.

What if colors still look wrong after the new cartridge goes in?

Give it a few pages first — a fresh cartridge needs a handful of prints to reach full, even density. If reds are still pale after that, the cartridge itself is suspect, and it is covered by a 1-year warranty with free returns for a year, per our shipping & returns page. A defect is our problem to fix, with a replacement or a refund.

Where will my cartridge come from?

From the closest of our four warehouses in IL, PA, GA or CA, which keeps delivery quick when a department is waiting on its printer. Questions before you order? Support runs Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
