Frequently Asked Questions
Our 7535 prints color all day — will the three colors in this set finish together, or one after another?
One after another, in an order your own artwork decides. On a color-heavy WorkCentre 7535, cyan 006R01512, magenta 006R01511 and yellow 006R01510 are each rated at 15,000 pages, yet identical ratings do not mean identical consumption. A quarter dominated by blue charts and diagrams drains cyan fastest, photography and warm-toned marketing pages lean hardest on magenta and yellow, and a run of green-heavy material pulls cyan and yellow down together. Expect the colors to fall out of step within the first cycle and to call for replacement weeks apart, not on the same afternoon — that staggered pattern is normal for this machine, not a sign that one cartridge was short-filled.
On the day we fit fresh cartridges, should we calibrate the 7535 before going back to live work?
Yes — treat calibration as the last step of the install, not an optional extra. Seat whichever cartridges you are changing, close the machine up and let it complete its own start-up routine, then run the color calibration and registration from the tools menu once, after the final cartridge is in, rather than between individual swaps. Follow it with a test page that carries photographs, fine text and blocks of solid color side by side. On a 7535 that earns its keep with client-facing color, those few minutes settle density and alignment across all four positions at the same starting point, so the work that leaves the office that day matches the work that left it last week.
Will the black cartridge still be going when a second round of colors goes in?
Very likely, yes. Black 006R01509 is rated at 26,000 pages against 15,000 pages for each color, so a single black cartridge is built to span the whole of one color cycle and a good part of the next one. In a color-led office the effect is even stronger, because pages full of graphics draw heavily on the three colors while asking comparatively little of the black position beyond text and outlines. The practical result is that the black fitted alongside this set will usually still be in the machine, part-used, when replacement colors arrive — which is why it should be left in place and judged on its own level reading, not swapped out just to keep the box tidy.
When the box arrives, how do we check that the right four cartridges are inside?
Check the delivery against the four codes before anything goes near the machine. This set should hold exactly one cartridge per position: 006R01509 for black, 006R01512 for cyan, 006R01511 for magenta and 006R01510 for yellow. Read the code printed on each cartridge rather than relying on the order they are listed in the product name, because that order — 006R01509, 006R01512, 006R01511, 006R01510 — is not a color sequence. If a code is duplicated and another is missing, keep the box sealed and contact us; a missing color cannot be covered by doubling up on another position, however full that spare cartridge is.
Besides the 7535, which other WorkCentre models in our building could draw on this same set?
Any machine on the same toner platform can. That covers the WorkCentre 7525, WorkCentre 7530, WorkCentre 7545 and WorkCentre 7556 from the 7535's own generation, plus the later models named in the About section underneath. A mixed floor can therefore hold this one set as shared stock, and the first machine to call for a color takes that cartridge while the rest of the box stays sealed for the next call, whichever machine makes it.
If a color starts printing weakly a few months after fitting, are we still covered?
Yes. Each cartridge in this set is covered by a 1-year warranty, and returns are free for 1 year, so a position that weakens well into its life is still within the window — the details are set out on our shipping and returns page. Before sending anything back, note which color is affected and run the calibration described above, since a drift that calibration corrects needs no replacement at all. Orders ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and our support team is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST to talk through a color problem before you decide to return a cartridge.
About This Xerox WorkCentre 7535 4 Color Set
This $339.24 set is put together for a WorkCentre 7535 that works in color every day: one black cartridge, 006R01509, rated at 26,000 pages, alongside cyan 006R01512, magenta 006R01511 and yellow 006R01510, each rated at 15,000 pages. Its working pattern is a staggered one — the three colors deplete at different speeds set by the artwork passing through the machine, finish in sequence rather than together, and are replaced one at a time, while the longer-lived black cartridge carries on across the changeover into the next color cycle. Fitting day is worth doing properly: seat the cartridges, calibrate once, and prove the result with a mixed test page before live jobs resume. The same four cartridges also serve the WorkCentre 7830, WorkCentre 7835, WorkCentre 7845, WorkCentre 7855 and WorkCentre 7970. See the full Xerox range for the rest of the platform, and note that every cartridge here is backed by a 1-year warranty with free returns for 1 year.
