Frequently Asked Questions

One cartridge — how many different machines does it serve?

Six models across two product lines: the Phaser 6500, Phaser 6500DN and Phaser 6500N printers, and the WorkCentre 6505, WorkCentre 6505N and WorkCentre 6505DN multifunctions. Xerox built the whole platform around a single black supply — part number 106R01597 — and both cartridges in this pack are that supply.

What does this 2 pack hold?

Two black cartridges, each rated at up to 3,000 pages, for up to 6,000 pages of black printing in the box. The natural split is one in service and one in reserve — and on a platform this broad, the reserve is not tied to a single machine: whichever of the six models runs dry first takes it.

How does the pricing of the pair work out?

The pack is $45.39, so each cartridge effectively costs $22.70 and the toner lands at about 0.76 cents per page. Set against two singles at $31.95 apiece — $63.90 in total — the pair keeps $18.51 in hand. Nothing about the cartridge changes for the saving; it is the same 3,000-page black, bought two at a time.

Why does one spare make sense in a mixed office?

Because the platform shares its supply. A Phaser on one desk and a WorkCentre down the hall look like two different supply problems, but their black cartridges are interchangeable — one shelf spare covers both machines, and the odds of it fitting whichever printer fails first are as good as it gets.

Is anything in the box a color cartridge?

No — both cartridges are black. These machines print in color, but cyan, magenta and yellow each live in their own cartridge under their own part numbers, sold separately. This pack is deliberately narrow: two of the one supply that every machine on the platform burns through fastest.

What warranty and returns apply to the pack?

Both cartridges carry a one-year warranty with free returns for a full year, on the terms of our shipping and returns page. Stock ships from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and the platform's other supplies are listed on our Xerox toner page.

About This 106R01597 2 Pack — Six-Model Coverage

Two compatible 106R01597 black cartridges for $45.39 — $22.70 each, up to 6,000 rated pages, about 0.76 cents per page. What sets this listing apart is the breadth behind it: one part number feeding six Phaser and WorkCentre models, so the pair works as a shared reserve for an entire platform, not just a single printer.
