Frequently Asked Questions

What does the 5 pack do to the cost per page?

It brings it to the lowest point in this family: about 0.57 cents per page. The cartridge itself does not change — each of the five is the same 106R01597 black rated at up to 3,000 pages — but buying the stock in one box spreads the price across 15,000 rated pages, and the per-page figure falls with every step up the pack ladder.

What is in the box, counted out?

Five black cartridges, five times 3,000 rated pages, for $85.74 — $17.15 per cartridge. That per-cartridge figure is worth pausing on: it is a little over half the $31.95 the same cartridge costs as a single, for identical toner in an identical housing.

How much does it save against buying singles?

Five singles at $31.95 would come to $159.75. The 5 pack is $85.74, so the difference kept in your pocket is $74.01 — close to the price of two and a third single cartridges, handed back for the commitment of stocking up once instead of five times.

Who buys black five at a time?

Printers that never really rest: a shared machine serving a whole office, a back-office printer working through statements and shipping paperwork all day, or several machines on this same platform drawing from one supply shelf. Where black consumption is a certainty rather than a guess, the big pack is simply the cheapest way to feed it.

Which printers does the stock cover?

Every model on the platform takes this same black: the Phaser 6500, the Phaser 6500N, the duplex Phaser 6500DN and the WorkCentre 6505 multifunctions. One part number — 106R01597 — covers the shelf for all of them.

What stands behind a box this size?

The same terms as every listing in the family: a one-year warranty and free returns for a full year, set out on our shipping and returns page. Orders leave from IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, help is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and the wider range lives on the Xerox toner page.
