Frequently Asked Questions

How does a busy copy room plan a year of drum changes around a five pack?

Start from page counts rather than dates. Each 113R671 carries a rated service life of up to 20,000 pages, so five units cover up to 100,000 pages of output. If your machines together turn out, say, 8,000 pages a month, the box is roughly a year of drum life — and because drums announce themselves with repeating marks and grey backgrounds before they become unusable, changes can be scheduled instead of suffered.

What does each unit cost in this pack?

The five pack is $411.50, which works out to $82.30 per drum — $73.95 less in total than five single units at $97.09. At copy-room volumes the per-unit figure, not the box price, is the number that belongs in the budget.

Before blaming the drum, what else should we rule out?

Three cheaper suspects. A toner cartridge near empty makes pages pale all over — swap or rock it first. Damp paper from a humid storeroom prints weakly and can curl. And a machine overdue for its routine cleaning can smudge. The drum earns the blame when the same mark repeats at the same spacing page after page, or a grey fog survives a fresh cartridge: that pattern is the worn surface itself.

What end-of-life signs should we watch for across several machines?

The drum wears as a surface, so its symptoms are mechanical and consistent: spots recurring at regular intervals down the sheet, a dirty background haze on white areas, faded bands that sit in the same place on every page. Train whoever loads the paper to flag the first machine that shows them, and the swap happens in minutes rather than after a week of complaints.

How should five drums be stored so the last one is as good as the first?

Sealed, flat, cool and dark — a closed cupboard away from windows and heat sources. Mark the arrival date on each box and fit them in order. The drum's light-sensitive surface is protected by its packaging; a unit that stays boxed until its fitting day arrives at the machine in the same condition as the day it was delivered.

What cover does the five pack carry?

All five units are covered by a 1-year warranty, with free returns for a full year; full terms are on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, and support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
