Frequently Asked Questions
The printer only holds one black drum at a time — why buy two?
Because a drum change is the most predictable event in the machine's life. Each unit is rated for up to 80,000 pages, so the change is coming on a schedule you can almost read off the page counter. One unit goes into the machine now; the second is that next change already on the shelf, turning a mid-run quality failure into a short swap instead of a wait for a delivery.
How much printing do the two units cover between them?
160,000 pages of drum life in total — 80,000 per unit, roughly 320 reams of paper. Note the page count when the first unit goes in and you can estimate closely when the shelf spare will be called for; when it is fitted, its own 80,000-page life starts from zero.
What does the pair save against buying singles as I go?
The 2-pack is $363.07 — $181.53 a unit against $190.77 bought singly, a saving of $18.47 across the pair. Spread over the combined drum life, the cost works out to about 0.23 cents per page.
How should the second unit be kept until its turn comes?
Sealed, in its own packaging, on a cool, dry shelf out of direct light. The drum's imaging surface is light-sensitive, so the box is part of the product: do not unbox the spare early, do not rest anything against the surface, and take it straight from its packaging to the machine when the prompt appears.
Does the spare have to go into the same machine as the first unit?
Both units are backed by a one-year warranty and free returns for a year, as set out on the shipping and returns page. Orders leave from our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST. The rest of the range for this platform sits on the Xerox toner page.
About This 013R00602 2 Pack
Two of the same unit, bought as a rotation: one for the machine, one for the shelf. Together they carry 160,000 pages of drum life at $181.53 a unit — $363.07 for the pair — so the next drum change on your DocuColor or WorkCentre is a swap, not a scramble.
