Frequently Asked Questions

Does this one cartridge sit behind printing and copying on the SCX-4116?

It does. For all its functions, the SCX-4116 keeps a single toner cartridge, and every sheet it marks - sent from a computer or copied off the glass - is drawn against that cartridge's 3,000-page rating. Plan around the machine's total output and you will never be caught out by the copy stream you forgot to count.

How should a mixed print-and-copy office plan cartridge changes?

By adding the streams. Three hundred printed pages plus two hundred copies monthly totals five hundred, which a 3,000-page cartridge covers in about six months; double the copying and the interval shrinks toward three. One month of honest tallying beats a year of guessing from print volume alone.

Do scans on the SCX-4116 use any toner at all?

Not a grain. Scanning reads the page and ships the image to the computer without touching paper, so a week of archiving leaves the cartridge exactly as it found it. It is the single job on a multifunction with a toner cost of zero, and scan-heavy offices notice their cartridges lasting conspicuously longer.

What does a printed or copied page cost with this cartridge?

Approximately 1.39 cents, the same for both jobs - $41.62 divided by the rated 3,000 pages. Budgeting could hardly be simpler: total pages out of the machine in a month, multiplied by that figure, is the month's toner spend before paper enters the ledger.

Which other machines can share a spare of this cartridge?

The whole family built on it: ML-1500, ML-1510, ML-1510B and ML-1520, the ML-1710, ML-1710B, ML-1710D and ML-1710P, and the ML-1740 with the ML-1750. A spare bought for the SCX-4116 fits every one of them, so a single stock item quietly insures the office's entire older Samsung fleet.

What warranty and returns terms apply here?

A warranty spanning a year, and a year in which sending a faulty unit back costs you nothing. Leaking, streaking or an early death are all returnable complaints, handled under the arrangements described on the shipping and returns page. Stock ships from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, with assistance available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
