Frequently Asked Questions

Who is a five-pack of these cartridges honestly sized for?

Departments and small fleets that print every day. Five ML-D4550B cartridges hold 100,000 rated pages; a single lightly used machine would take years to see the back of that, while two or three busy printers from this platform will move through the box at a sensible pace. Buy it for throughput you actually have, not throughput you hope for.

What does the arithmetic look like at this quantity?

The five-pack is $458.88, which puts each cartridge at $91.78 and the page cost at roughly 0.46 cents. Against five singles at $106.57 the saving is $73.97 — the deepest per-cartridge step in this family short of the ten-pack.

Can one pack stock several different machines?

Yes, provided they are from the group this cartridge serves: the ML-4050, ML-4050N, ML-4550, ML-4551N and ML-4551ND all take the ML-D4550B. One shelf stock for the whole group means no spare is ever stranded fitting a machine the office no longer runs.

How do we keep track of five cartridges?

Label the shelf, not the cartridges: fit them in the order they arrived, and let the printers' page counters do the forecasting. At 20,000 pages apiece, a department that knows its monthly volume can predict the next change to within a few weeks and reorder while the last cartridge is still working.

Does buying five at once tie up the warranty sooner?

The warranty year runs from purchase for the pack as a whole, so the honest advice is to size the box to a year of printing. A department that will use three or four cartridges in that year is still well served here; one that would use a single cartridge in that time should buy singles instead.

What returns cover applies?

Free returns for a full year on the purchase, alongside a one-year warranty on every cartridge in the box — the wording is on our shipping and returns page. Support is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
