Frequently Asked Questions

Why would I keep a second cartridge on the shelf at all?

Because a printer never empties at a convenient moment. With this two-pack, one CLT-K404S is working in the machine and the second is on the shelf, so the day the first cartridge fades you are back printing in minutes instead of waiting on a delivery. For a small office whose Xpress printer carries its letters and invoices, that spare is the difference between a non-event and a stalled afternoon.

What do the two cartridges in this box add up to?

Two CLT-K404S black cartridges, each rated at 1,500 pages — 3,000 pages of supply for $82.75, which is about $41.38 a cartridge. Set against two singles bought separately at $50.62 each, which would total $101.24, the pair keeps $18.49 in your budget, and each page works out at roughly 2.76 cents instead of 3.37.

Which machines do these two cartridges serve?

The CLT-K404S is the listed black for the Samsung Xpress C430, Xpress C430W, Xpress C480 and Xpress C480FW, so one pack can be held as common stock if your office runs two machines from that family — whichever printer empties first takes the spare. The color cartridges for the same machines are separate supplies under the CLT-C404S, CLT-M404S and CLT-Y404S codes.

How should the spare be stored until it is needed?

Sealed in its box, flat, in a dry cupboard away from heat and direct sunlight. Toner does not spoil on a calendar, but orderly storage keeps the cartridge in the condition it arrived in, and fitting the older stock first — simple first-in, first-out — means no cartridge sits forgotten for years.

How long will 3,000 pages last a small office?

At a modest hundred pages a week, 3,000 pages is the better part of seven months of black printing. A busier desk will turn it over faster, but the shape of the purchase stays the same: one cartridge earning its keep in the printer, one waiting, and a reorder point that arrives when the spare goes in — not when the last page fades.

What warranty covers a two-pack?

The same cover as a single, cartridge by cartridge: each unit is protected by a one-year warranty against defects, and the purchase carries free returns for a full year, with the details on the shipping and returns page. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
