Frequently Asked Questions

Why buy two black cartridges at once when the machine only holds one?

Because black is the cartridge this platform leans on hardest, and an empty black stops every job — color included. With the second cartridge already on the shelf, a swap takes a minute and nobody waits on a delivery. At $54.79 per cartridge in this pack against $64.03 bought singly, you also save $18.48 across the pair.

How much printing does the pair cover in total?

Each cartridge is rated at 16,500 pages, so the two together give you about 33,000 pages of black output. For an office printing 2,000 black pages a month, that is roughly sixteen months of cover from a single order.

Will the spare cartridge go bad sitting in storage?

No, not if it stays sealed in its packaging, kept flat in a cool, dry spot out of direct sunlight. Toner is a dry powder and does not dry out or expire the way ink does, so a spare bought today is still good when the installed cartridge finally runs down months from now.

Can the two cartridges be split between two different printers?

Yes. This 842307 black cartridge serves the entire Ricoh IM C2000 and IM C2500 platform, and the listing title names just one model from that family. If your office runs more than one machine on this platform, the pair divides between them with no compatibility concerns at all.

Should I install the second cartridge as soon as the first feels light?

Wait until output actually fades or the machine reports the cartridge empty — toner near the end can be coaxed along by gently rocking the cartridge to redistribute what is left. Swapping early just throws away usable pages; the shelf spare is there for the moment the first one truly finishes.

Are both cartridges in the pack covered the same way?

Yes — each one carries a one-year warranty, and free returns run for a full year as well. You can read the complete terms on our shipping and returns page, and support is reachable Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
