Frequently Asked Questions

Why do reds start looking dull while the other colors still look strong?

Magenta carries much of the red, pink and skin-tone range, so it is often the first color to show its age in everyday office color work. If logos lose their punch or faces start looking washed out, this magenta cartridge is the one to check before changing the full set. It is rated for 22,500 pages and costs $104.77, which works out to about 0.47¢ per page at the rated yield.

Can I replace only the magenta cartridge?

Yes. The colors are separate, so a weak magenta can be replaced on its own without throwing away cyan, yellow or black cartridges that still have useful life. Black is sold separately for these printers, and this listing is only for the magenta cartridge described here.

Which printers is this magenta cartridge made for?

This cartridge is made for Ricoh MP C4503 and MP C5503. Match the printer model on your machine with the model named in the listing before ordering, especially if your office runs more than one Ricoh color model side by side.

How long should 22,500 pages last in normal office use?

That depends mostly on color coverage. A page with a small color logo uses far less magenta than a full-color flyer, presentation cover or photo-heavy document. The 22,500-page rating is a comparison figure, not a promise that every office will see the same count; heavy color pages will use the cartridge faster.

What if the new cartridge does not fix the color problem?

Start by printing a clean test page and checking whether the weakness is only in reds and skin tones. If the problem spreads across every color, the cause may be a printer setting or another supply item rather than this cartridge. Clever Supplies support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and can help you sort out whether the issue follows the magenta supply.

What protection comes with this cartridge?

It is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. The practical point is simple: if this magenta cartridge fails to perform as a cartridge should, you are not stuck with it. Details are in the shipping and returns policy.
