Frequently Asked Questions

How long will 33,000 pages actually stretch in a working office?

It comes down to your monthly black volume. A department printing 3,000 black pages a month is looking at roughly eleven months from one cartridge; at 6,000 pages a month, plan on about five to six months. Dense coverage — heavy reports, big graphics — pulls those figures down, while plain memos, invoices and email printouts usually land close to the rating.

What is the real cost of a black page from this cartridge?

At $80.53 for a rated 33,000 pages, black output works out to roughly 0.24 cents per page before paper and running costs. That is the arithmetic that keeps a high-volume MP C4503 or MP C5503 economical to run year after year. Pages printed well above the 5% test coverage will cost a little more in practice.

Which machines is this black cartridge made for?

This is the 841849 black cartridge for Ricoh MP C4503 and MP C5503. The two models share the same cartridge platform, so the cartridge named here serves both. If you are cross-checking before ordering, match the number 841849 against the cartridge currently in the machine.

Black is empty but the colors still show toner left — do I have to change everything?

No. Each cartridge on this platform is independent, so you replace only the black and leave the colors in place until each one runs down on its own. Swapping a still-working color cartridge early just throws away toner you already paid for.

What cover do I get if this cartridge disappoints?

It is backed by a one-year warranty, and returns stay free for a full year too. Leaks, streaking or a cartridge that gives up far earlier than it should are all reasons to get in touch rather than absorb the loss. The procedure is set out on our shipping and returns page.

How quickly can a replacement reach us?

Orders leave from four warehouses — IL, PA, GA and CA — so delivery usually takes a few business days depending on which is nearest to you. If you need a hand confirming the right cartridge before you order, our support team is on Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
