Frequently Asked Questions

One cartridge already lasts 33,000 pages — why keep a second one on the shelf?

Because cartridges never run out at a convenient moment. The second cartridge in this box is insurance: when the first one fades mid-run, the swap takes minutes instead of a purchase order, a shipment and a machine standing idle. For any office where the copier is shared infrastructure, that spare is the difference between a hiccup and a holdup.

What does the two-pack save against buying singles?

Two singles bought separately would run $161.06. This box is $142.59, so you keep $18.47 and each cartridge works out to $71.30 instead of $80.53. Between the pair you are covered for a rated 66,000 black pages.

Which printers do these two cartridges serve?

Both cartridges are the 841849 black for Ricoh MP C4503 and MP C5503. Since the two models sit on one shared cartridge platform, the same box can feed either machine — handy if your site runs one of each.

Can the pair be split between two different machines?

Yes. Each cartridge is sealed on its own inside the box, so nothing ties them together once they arrive. Put one in each machine, or run both through a single machine in sequence — the stock works however your floor is set up.

How long can the spare sit in storage before it goes in?

Sealed toner is patient. Kept in its packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat vents, the second cartridge will wait comfortably until the first one is spent — which, at 33,000 pages, can be many months. Jot the arrival month on the box so the older stock always gets used first.

What happens if one cartridge in the pair turns out to be faulty?

It is dealt with by itself. Each cartridge carries its own one-year warranty and returns are free for a full year, so one problem cartridge never puts the other at risk or forces you to send back both. Details and the steps to follow are on our shipping and returns page, and the box itself ships from whichever of our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses is closest to you.
