Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the cyan cartridge usually outlast the black one in this machine?
Black does the heavy lifting in everyday office printing — text, forms and grayscale pages all come from the black cartridge, which is rated at 8,300 pages in this family. Cyan is only consumed when a page actually contains blue tones, so at 10,000 pages rated it typically lasts noticeably longer. Most MP C300 and C400 owners replace black two or three times for every single cyan.
What happens to my prints when cyan starts running low?
The first signs are washed-out blues and greens: skies look pale, teal logos lose their punch, and photos take on a warm, reddish cast because the color balance has shifted. The machine will warn you well before the cartridge is fully empty. Replacing cyan promptly restores the balance without touching the other three cartridges.
How much does a color page cost with this cartridge?
At $56.84 for a rated 10,000 pages, cyan works out to roughly 0.57 cents per page for the cyan component — and only on pages that actually use cyan. A full-color page draws on all four cartridges, so its combined toner cost is higher than a text page. For offices that print color selectively, the real-world cyan cost per page is usually well below the rated figure.
Is this cartridge made for one specific printer model?
Can I replace just the cyan, or should all four cartridges be changed together?
Replace them individually, as each one runs out — the four cartridges wear at completely different rates, and changing a cartridge that still has toner left is money thrown away. Each color swaps independently in a few minutes with no tools. Keeping one spare cyan on the shelf is a sensible middle ground for a busy office.
What protection do I get if the cartridge arrives faulty?
Every cartridge we sell is covered by a one-year warranty and one year of free returns, detailed on our shipping & returns page. Orders ship from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if anything looks off with your prints.
About This Cyan Cartridge
This is the cyan supply for the Ricoh Aficio MP C300/C400 color MFP family, rated at 10,000 pages and priced at $56.84 — about 0.57 cents per page for the cyan component. Because cyan is only spent on pages with blue content, most offices find it one of the longest-lived cartridges in the machine.
