Frequently Asked Questions
Why keep a second cartridge for a copier that only holds one?
Because the cartridge never runs out at a convenient moment — it runs out during the big copy job. With a spare on the shelf, the swap takes a minute and work continues; without one, the machine sits idle until a delivery arrives. For a copier the whole office leans on, that insurance is the real product in this box.
What does the second cartridge actually cost?
The 2-pack is $39.12, which is $19.56 per cartridge. Two cartridges bought one at a time would cost $57.62, so the pair saves you $18.50 — the spare effectively comes at a steep discount rather than as a second full-price purchase.
Besides the Savin 917, which machines can use the cartridges in this 2-pack?
Two cartridges at 7,000 rated pages each give you 14,000 pages of printing and copying combined. At 500 pages a month that's well over two years of supply; at 1,500 pages a month it's most of a year. Either way, it's a long stretch between toner orders.
How should I store the spare cartridge?
Leave it sealed in its bag, stored flat in a cool, dry cabinet away from direct sunlight and heat vents. When the installed cartridge runs out, put the shelf cartridge in and let the next purchase become the new spare, so stock rotates instead of aging. Handled that way, a stored toner cartridge keeps well for an extended period.
What if the spare turns out to be faulty when I finally install it?
Coverage doesn't depend on which cartridge of the pair you open first: each is backed by a one-year warranty, and returns are free for a year under the policy on our shipping & returns page. If a cartridge misbehaves, contact us and we'll make it right.
