Frequently Asked Questions
Why does this set contain three cartridges instead of four?
It is a colors-only refresh: one cyan, one magenta and one yellow, each rated at 18,000 pages. There is deliberately no black cartridge in the box, because black typically outlasts the colors and often still has life left when the colors run down. If your black is also empty, add it separately — this set assumes it is still going.
How does the set price compare with buying the three colors one at a time?
Bought individually, the three color singles total $260.16; the set is $191.85, saving $68.31. That is a larger bundle saving than usual on this platform, and the cartridges themselves are the identical units sold singly. For an office refreshing all three colors together, the set is clearly the better-value route.
Is this the right set for our printer?
These are the three color cartridges for Ricoh Aficio MP C4502 and MP C5502, grouped here under the family's color codes. Every model on that platform uses this same cyan, magenta and yellow trio, so the model name on your machine does not change the order. The black cartridge for the platform is a different code and is sold separately.
Our black cartridge is nearly new — does swapping colors disturb it?
Not at all. Each cartridge sits in its own slot and is replaced independently, so refreshing the three colors leaves the black unit untouched and still counting down its own 28,000-page rating. The swap takes a few minutes per cartridge and requires no tools or technician.
Is it better to install all three colors at once or one as each empties?
Either works, and the practical choice depends on your color balance. Installing all three together resets your color output to an even baseline, which helps if prints have drifted. Installing one at a time as each empties wastes nothing, since the sealed cartridges keep fine on the shelf — just store them cool, dry and out of direct sun.
What protection comes with the set if a color prints badly?
Every cartridge in the set is covered by our one-year warranty, with free returns for a full year; the process is described on our shipping and returns page. A problem color is exchanged on its own — the other two cartridges stay in your machine. Support hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
