Frequently Asked Questions

Where does magenta actually show up in everyday office printing?

More places than people expect: it is half of every red and purple, it warms skin tones in photographs, and it carries the pinks and burgundies in logos and charts. A C9600 that prints reports, proposals and branded material leans on its magenta constantly — and the cartridge in that position is the 42918902.

How many pages is this cartridge rated for?

15,000 pages at standard test coverage, matching the other colors in this family. Photo-rich and graphics-heavy pages draw it down faster than the rating implies; documents that use magenta mainly for accents will stretch it much further.

What is the real cost picture on this magenta?

Unusually good for this family. The cartridge is $59.96 — against $101.91 for each of the cyan and yellow singles — so across its 15,000-page rating it works out at roughly 0.40 cents a page. Same rating, same family, lower price; that is the whole story.

Which printers does the 42918902 belong to?

The Oki C9600hdn, C9600hn and C9600n, and the C9800hdn. It also appears under the Type C7 family label in parts of the catalogue — one cartridge, two ways of naming it.

What are the matching cartridges if I am restocking the full color side?

The cyan 42918903 and yellow 42918901 as singles, or the three- and six-cartridge color sets that bundle all three numbers together. You can compare them in our Okidata range.

What if the cartridge gives me trouble?

It is backed by a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns, handled under our shipping and returns policy. Your order ships from our closest warehouse among IL, PA, GA and CA, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
