Frequently Asked Questions

Why do prints look "off" for a while before yellow admits it is empty?

Yellow 46507601 is the palest color in the set, so its decline shows sideways: greens turn muddy, highlights flatten, and photographs lose warmth while text stays crisp. By the time pages look obviously wrong, yellow has usually been low for a while — the printer's own supply report is the more honest gauge.

What does this cartridge cost per page?

$63.87 against an 11,500-page rating works out near 0.56 cents per page — the same figure as its cyan and magenta siblings, since this family prices all three colors identically. For departmental color volume, that is an easy number to build a budget on.

Can yellow be changed alone, ahead of the other colors?

Yes, and it commonly is. The 46507601 lifts out and its replacement drops in without disturbing 46507604 black, 46507603 cyan or 46507602 magenta. Each color keeps its own counter, so staggered replacement is the normal rhythm of this machine.

Will a new yellow cartridge change how my existing colors look?

It restores the balance the other cartridges were calibrated around. Pages printed while yellow was fading may look noticeably warmer and cleaner once it is replaced — that contrast is the old deficiency disappearing, not a new problem appearing.

How should a spare yellow be stored?

Sealed in its packaging, flat, in a cool dry place out of sunlight. With an 11,500-page rating, a fitted cartridge lasts a long while; a shelved spare kept properly will be in the same condition when its turn finally comes.

What warranty and returns come with it?

This compatible cartridge includes a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, with terms on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses; support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
