Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this cartridge sold under the number 43502001 instead of a printer name?

Because one cartridge serves four printers, and the number is the one thing they all share. The 43502001 is the black toner for the B4550, B4550n, B4600 and B4600n — if the cartridge you pulled out of any of those machines is stamped 43502001, the number is a more reliable match than a model name, since the same printer can appear under slightly different names in different listings. Match the number and you have the right cartridge.

Is this the toner cartridge or the drum unit?

The toner. On these Oki machines the toner cartridge and the drum unit are separate parts with separate numbers: this 43502001 holds the black toner powder, while the drum is the imaging surface sold under its own part number. If your pages are fading because the toner has run out, this is the part you need. If a fresh toner still leaves repeating streaks, that points at the drum instead.

How many pages does one cartridge print?

Up to 7,000 pages in black. At the $27.84 list price that works out to roughly 0.4 cents per page, which is the honest way to judge a cartridge like this — not the sticker price alone. Real life varies with coverage: dense pages with graphics use more toner than plain text memos, so a heavy user will land below the rating and a light one can pass it.

Is this a genuine Oki cartridge?

No — it is a compatible cartridge built to the 43502001 specification, not an Oki-branded part. That is why it costs what it does. It is covered by a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, with the full terms on the shipping & returns page.

I have a B4600n on a small network — is one cartridge the right buy?

For a single printer with light-to-moderate use, yes: 7,000 pages is a long runway for one machine, and a single cartridge keeps cash out of the supply drawer. If the printer is shared by a whole team and downtime matters, one of the multi-packs of this same 43502001 costs noticeably less per cartridge — but there is no penalty for starting with one and seeing how fast you actually go through it.

Where does my order ship from, and who do I call with a question?

Orders leave from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. The rest of the Oki range — drums and the multi-packs of this cartridge included — is gathered on the Okidata brand page.

About This Toner Cartridge (43502001)
