Frequently Asked Questions

What is the per-drum cost inside this $175.13 three-pack?

About $58.38 per 44574301 drum — down from $70.70 for a single, and a total saving of $36.97 against buying three drums one at a time. The steps keep coming off the unit price as the pack grows, which is the whole logic of stocking drums in threes.

Who actually uses three drum units?

Offices running more than one machine from this family — a B411D here, an MB471 there — or a single printer busy enough that 30,000 pages pass quickly. Three drums is the point where a small fleet's drum changes stop being purchases and become a shelf you simply draw from.

How much printing does this pack represent?

Three drums at 30,000 pages each: 90,000 pages of imaging life. Toner cartridges will cycle through many times in that span — the drum underneath them is replaced only when its surface wears, which is what makes it the right part to hold in reserve.

How do I tell which printer needs the next drum?

Watch the pages, not the calendar. The printer whose output gains repeating marks, vertical lines or a gray background — and keeps them after a toner swap — is the one whose 44574301 has worn. Because every machine in this family takes the same drum, the shelf stock fits whichever printer complains first.

Can a drum wear out from age rather than pages?

Pages are what wear it; time on a shelf, kept sealed and away from light, costs it little. That is why multi-packs make sense for drums in a way they might not for perishables: a 44574301 bought today will image its full 30,000 pages whenever it is finally installed.

What support stands behind this pack?

These are compatible drums with a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — see our shipping and returns page for the terms. Orders ship from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses, and support is staffed Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST.

About This B411D Drum Unit 3 Pack

Three compatible 44574301 drum units, each rated at 30,000 pages, for printers including the B411D, B411dn, B431d, MB461 MFP, MB471 and MB471W. The pack suits small fleets and busy single machines alike: drums are the slow-wearing, quality-deciding part of these printers, and having the next one already in the building turns a print-quality failure into a five-minute swap. At $175.13 the drums cost about $58.38 apiece, saving $36.97 over three single buys. Other pack sizes for the same drum are on our Okidata brand page.
