Frequently Asked Questions
Who is still buying four cartridges at a time for the Optra S?
Institutions that never retired the fleet: government offices, schools, warehouses and factories where several Optra S machines — sometimes several different models — still handle daily forms and reports. For them the four-pack is a supply decision, not a bulk splurge: one order keeps every machine on the platform fed. A single lightly used Optra, by contrast, will rarely justify four.
What does the four-pack do to the numbers?
Four singles total $516.96; the four-pack is $461.50, saving $55.46 and bringing each cartridge to $115.38 — the lowest unit price for this cartridge. Over 70,000 rated pages the toner cost falls to about 0.66 cents per page. It also collapses four purchasing cycles into one, which for an institution is worth as much as the discount.
Can one stock really serve different Optra models?
Yes — the family shares this cartridge: the Optra S, the Optra S 1250, S 1620, S 1650, S 1855, S 2420 and S 2450, and the Lexmark 4059 all take the 1382625. The listing simply headlines the Optra S. That commonality is what makes a central stock of four rational: any cartridge can go to whichever machine runs dry first.
How far ahead does 70,000 pages plan?
For a small fleet printing a combined 3,000 pages a month, roughly two years; for a busier site, about a year. Planning that far ahead makes sense for legacy hardware because it removes toner supply from the list of things that could sideline a machine nobody wants to replace. When the third cartridge is opened, reorder — the fourth is your buffer.
How do we rotate a multi-year stock correctly?
Date-mark each box on arrival, store the packs sealed and flat in a dry, room-temperature room away from sun and vents, and always install the oldest cartridge first. Toner does not expire in storage the way ink does, so rotation is about tidiness rather than spoilage. Kept that way, the last cartridge out will print like the first.
What if one of the four turns out to be faulty?
Each cartridge is covered on its own: a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, processed as described on our shipping and returns page. Only the faulty unit goes back; the rest of the fleet's stock is untouched. Shipments leave from our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, keeping replacement transit short within the US.
