Frequently Asked Questions

What does the set consist of?

Four individually boxed HP 128A cartridges: CE320A in black, CE321A in cyan, CE322A in yellow and CE323A in magenta. One order at $76.20 restocks every slot of a CP1525- or CM1415-family printer.

I like to keep a full set on the shelf. How should unopened cartridges be stored?

Flat, in their sealed boxes, in a cool and dry place out of direct sunlight — an office supply cabinet is ideal. Avoid spots that swing hot and cold, like a garage or a shelf above a radiator. Stored that way, a cartridge waits in the same condition it arrived in.

Does it matter which set I open first if I stock more than one?

Yes — rotate stock first in, first out. Write the arrival month on each box with a marker and always draw from the oldest set. Rotation guarantees no cartridge sits forgotten at the back of the cabinet for years while newer ones are consumed around it.

Will a cartridge that sat for months still deliver its rated yield?

Properly stored, yes. The ratings — 2,000 pages for the CE320A black and 1,300 pages for each color — assume a cartridge in sound condition, and sealed storage preserves exactly that. Toner is a dry powder; it does not evaporate or skin over while it waits.

Is it better to store the set beside the printer?

Convenient, but only if the spot is kind. Right beside the machine is fine in a normal office; on top of the printer, where heat rises and accumulates, is not. A nearby cabinet drawer beats a warm printer-top shelf every time.

What protection does a shelf set carry?

The same as an installed one: a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns on every cartridge. If a stored cartridge turns out to be defective when its turn finally comes within that year, it goes back free.

About This 128A Set for Stocked Shelves

The CP1525 and CM1415 printers behind this set — models like the Color LaserJet CM1415fnw — are rarely anyone's only priority, which is why their toner tends to be ordered in a panic. A complete $76.20 set of CE320A, CE321A, CE322A and CE323A kept in reserve changes that: the next low-toner warning becomes a two-minute swap from the cabinet instead of a rush order.

Deliveries leave from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and the practicalities are covered on the shipping & returns page. Questions get a human answer Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and additional supplies for these printers are grouped under the store's HP heading.
