Frequently Asked Questions

What does this four-pack actually put on our shelf?

Four individually sealed black 147Y cartridges, each in its own protective bag and carton, priced together at $944.66. Nothing is bundled loose or repacked — every cartridge comes out of its box ready to install, one at a time, as the litigation printer calls for it.

Why would a litigation team stock four cartridges at once?

Discovery productions and filing deadlines do not pause for a supply order. On an M611dn running exhibit sets and briefs for days at a time, a 42,000-page cartridge already stretches a long way; keeping four on site means a swap at midnight before a filing is a two-minute job, not an emergency purchase.

How do I verify the W1470Y is what our printer takes?

Pull the cartridge that is in the machine now and read its label, or check the supply status page from the control panel. If the part number reads W1470Y — the 147Y cartridge — this pack holds exactly that cartridge, four times over. One sealed unit serves the M611dn, M611n and M611x printers and the M634h, M634z, M635h, M635z, M636fh and M636z multifunctions, so a single shelf line covers the fleet.

Does a cartridge stored for months still print properly?

Yes, as long as it stays sealed in its bag, upright, and away from heat and direct sunlight. Toner does not dry out the way liquid ink does, so a cartridge bought this quarter prints the same when it is finally installed next quarter — keep the stock room rotation simple: oldest box to the printer first.

What does changing one involve mid-production?

Open the top cover, slide the spent cartridge out, rock the new one gently side to side, remove the packing strip, and push it in until it seats. No tools, no menu settings, and the print queue picks up where it left off.

What protection covers these cartridges?

Each one is backed by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so a faulty cartridge is replaced or refunded rather than debated. If you want a person on the line, our team is available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST.

About This 147Y Four-Pack

This four-pack of W1470Y black cartridges, each rated at 42,000 pages, is built for the HP LaserJet Enterprise M611dn when it is working as a document-production machine rather than an office printer. At $944.66 it is the buy-ahead format for teams whose print volume arrives in waves and cannot wait on deliveries. The family is tiered for different appetites: the same machines also take the high-yield 147X (W1470X) four-pack and the standard 147A (W1470A) four-pack, where this unit's full reach is not needed.

Stock ships from whichever of our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA is nearest to you; delivery timing is spelled out on the shipping & returns page. The wider family range is filed under HP in the catalogue.
