Frequently Asked Questions

How can I be sure this is the cartridge our records office printer uses?

Read the part number on the cartridge currently installed, or print the supplies status page. You are looking for W1470Y — the 147Y cartridge. Match that code and the two cartridges in this pack are the correct ones for the machine, regardless of what the front badge calls it. Match the code and the model looks after itself: the code is shared by the M611dn, M611n, M611x, M634h, M634z, M635h, M635z, M636fh and M636z.

What is in the box for the $481.57 price?

Two black 147Y cartridges, each sealed in its own protective bag inside its own carton. One typically goes straight into service and the second waits on the shelf as the reserve, so the pack covers a working cartridge plus its replacement in a single order.

How far does one 42,000-page cartridge go in a registrar's office?

Transcripts, verification letters and enrollment paperwork are steady, mostly plain-text volume — the kind a 42,000-page rating handles for many months at a time. Heavy coverage shortens real life, light text stretches it, but swaps become rare calendar events instead of monthly errands.

Is there anything to set up after installing a fresh cartridge?

No. Rock the new cartridge gently to distribute the toner, pull the packing strip, slide it home and close the cover. The printer recognizes the supply level on its own; there are no settings to adjust and nothing to register.

How should the spare cartridge be stored?

Sealed, upright, and in a normal office environment — a supply cupboard away from radiators and windows is ideal. Kept that way, the reserve cartridge is ready whenever the working one runs out, even if that is terms later.

What if a cartridge turns out to be faulty?

It is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns: a defective unit is replaced or refunded. Questions along the way are answered by our team Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST.

About This 147Y Two-Pack

For a records office running an HP LaserJet Enterprise M611n, this two-pack of W1470Y cartridges (42,000 pages each) at $481.57 is the working-plus-reserve arrangement: one cartridge in the machine, one on the shelf, and no scramble when the low-supply notice appears during enrollment week. Not every site prints at this intensity — the platform also runs the 147X (W1470X) two-pack and the standard-capacity 147A (W1470A) two-pack.
