Which printer does it fit?

Only the Expression Photo XP-980. Nothing else in the XP line takes 279 cartridges — the XP-960, XP-970, XP-950, XP-860 and XP-850 are all 277-family printers.

How many pages does the T279XL320 print?

Up to 740 pages on Epson's ISO/IEC 24711 rating for the genuine cartridge. Full-bleed photos draw magenta faster than the test pattern; documents draw it slower.

Magenta or light magenta — do I need both?

The XP-980 has a slot for each, and both must be installed. Magenta (320) carries saturated reds and pinks; light magenta (620) handles the pale end of the same range. They are separate cartridges with separate codes.

Does it have a chip?

Yes — a new compatible chip for ink-level reporting. This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur; reseating and restarting usually clears a false warning.

What ink is inside?

Claria Photo HD dye ink — Epson's six-colour dye-based photo line. All six 279 colours, black included, are dye.

Is this the high-capacity version?

Yes, the XL: 740 pages against the standard T279320's 360. Our shelf for this family is XL-only, and the tier is printed on the box, not hidden in fine print.

My printer says the cartridge is not recognised. What now?

Power off, remove the cartridge, wipe the chip contacts dry, reseat until it clicks, and power back on. A firmware update just before the message is the usual trigger; if it persists, we replace under the lifetime warranty.

How much ink is in it, in millilitres?

We don't publish a figure: Epson's US documentation does not state a millilitre volume for this family, so the Volume field is left blank rather than filled with a reseller's claim. The verifiable figure is the 740-page ISO yield.

Is it a genuine Epson cartridge?

No — it is a Clever Supplies compatible built to the T279XL320-S specification and labelled compatible on the box and this page. It is not manufactured by Epson.

Can I mix XL and standard cartridges?

Yes. Slots are independent — an XL magenta beside standard colours works fine. Our own range is XL in every position, but nothing forces a matched set.

What does the lifetime warranty cover?
