Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the second cartridge in this 2-pack effectively cost less?

Because the pack is priced as a pair, not as two singles. Two 331-9805 cartridges bought individually cost $182.40; this 2-pack is $163.91 — a saving of $18.49, which brings the effective price down to $81.96 per cartridge. The cartridges themselves are identical to the singles; only the arithmetic changes.

How many pages do the two cartridges cover together?

Up to 17,000 pages in total — each 331-9805 in the pack is rated at up to 8,500 pages at standard coverage. On a departmental machine printing 3,000 pages a month, the pair represents the better part of six months of toner bought in a single order.

What does the 2-pack do to the cost per page?

It brings it down to roughly 0.96 cents per page, from about 1.07 cents when cartridges are bought one at a time. Across the 17,000 pages in the pack, that difference is the $18.49 saving — modest per page, real money across a year of departmental printing.

One cartridge goes in the machine — how should the spare be kept?

In its sealed packaging, flat, in a cool dry cupboard away from sunlight. The whole point of the second cartridge is that it waits on the shelf until the first reaches the end of its 8,500 pages, and stored that way it will wait in perfect condition. When the swap happens, the clock starts on ordering the next pair.

Which printers do the cartridges in this pack serve?

Any machine in Dell's B2360, B3460 and B3465 mono families — the listing spans B2360D to B3465DNF, and the cartridge code, 331-9805, is the identifier to match against the label of the cartridge you are replacing. Two machines in the family can share one pack; the cartridges are not model-specific.

What if one cartridge of the two underperforms?

Each cartridge carries our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, pack or no pack, and the process is explained on our shipping & returns page. These are compatible cartridges built to the 331-9805 specification. Support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders ship from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA or CA.
