Frequently Asked Questions

Why buy two 330-5846 cartridges in one order?

Because a 5130cdn that runs out of black mid-week stops the whole office, not just one print job. This 2-pack puts one 330-5846 in the printer and one on the shelf, so a swap takes two minutes instead of waiting on a delivery. Between the two cartridges you have 36,000 rated pages of black on hand.

What does the 2-pack save versus buying singles?

Two single 330-5846 cartridges bought separately would cost $102.68. This 2-pack is $84.19, so you save $18.49 — that brings the per-cartridge cost down to about $42.10 and the per-page cost to roughly 0.23 cents. Same cartridge, same 18,000-page rating each; the only difference is buying the pair together.

Will an unopened spare keep until we need it?

Yes. Keep the second cartridge sealed in its packaging, stored flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and use the installed cartridge first. Rotate on a first-in, first-out basis when the spare eventually goes in. Stored that way, a sealed spare waits on the shelf without any special handling.

The listing name says 5130CDN — which printers does this pack serve?

The 330-5846 is the black high-yield cartridge for Dell's Color Laser 5120cdn, 5130cdn and 5140cdn. This listing is titled for the 5130cdn, but the cartridges inside are the same 330-5846 part used across that family — match the part number on your current cartridge if you're ordering for one of the other models.

Are both cartridges covered if one turns out faulty?

Yes — each cartridge in the pack carries our one-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year; see our shipping & returns page for how it works. A problem with one cartridge doesn't affect the coverage on the other.

Where does the pack ship from?

From the closest of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California. Questions before or after ordering: support runs Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the full lineup is on our Dell toner page.
