Frequently Asked Questions

Why buy two cartridges at once when one lasts 3,500 pages?

Because the moment a cartridge runs out is never a convenient one. With the second 330-4130 already on the shelf, the changeover is a two-minute job instead of a printer standing idle while a delivery makes its way to you. For a 2230 that other people rely on, that continuity is the real product here — the pair simply removes toner from your list of possible emergencies.

What does the second cartridge effectively cost?

The pair is $139.09, against $157.58 for two singles bought separately — a saving of $18.49. Put another way, the cartridges average $69.55 each in this pack, and the second one effectively costs $60.30 once the first is counted at its single price. Per rated page, the pair works out to about 1.99 cents against 2.25 cents buying singly.

How many pages does the pair cover in total?

Up to 7,000 pages — 3,500 from each cartridge at the standard 5% coverage. For a printer doing around 1,000 pages a month, that is roughly seven months of printing from one order; heavier graphics work will land somewhat under the rated total, as it does with any cartridge.

How should the spare cartridge be stored?

Sealed in its packaging, lying flat, in a dry spot at ordinary room temperature and out of direct sunlight. Stored that way it waits without deteriorating, ready to go in the moment the installed cartridge gives up — no special handling or rotation needed for a single spare.

Are both cartridges covered the same way?

Yes. Each cartridge in the pack carries the same 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so the spare is protected exactly as the one in the machine is. The terms are on our shipping & returns page.

Are these genuine Dell cartridges?

No — they are compatible 330-4130 cartridges, made by a third-party manufacturer to the same specification for the Dell 2230. Orders ship from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA or CA, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
