Frequently Asked Questions

What does one black page actually cost with the 330-5846?

This single cartridge is $51.34 and rated at 18,000 pages, which works out to roughly 0.29 cents per page. That per-page figure is the honest way to read the 330-5846: the upfront price looks like a lot for one box, but the yield is what you're really buying — 18,000 pages is about 36 standard 500-sheet reams of paper before the cartridge is done.

How long will 18,000 pages last in our 5130cdn?

It depends entirely on your volume. At 500 black pages a month, one 330-5846 runs close to three years. At 2,000 pages a month it lasts about nine months, and a busy department printing 5,000 pages a month will finish one in under four months. The rating assumes standard business-page coverage, so heavy full-page documents will pull the real number down somewhat.

Why is this cartridge sold under the number 330-5846 instead of a printer name?

330-5846 is Dell's part number for this black high-yield cartridge, and it's the number stamped on the cartridge itself. Searching and ordering by that number is the surest way to land on the right supply — printer families share similar names, but the part number points to exactly one cartridge.

Is this a new cartridge or a refilled one?

It's a new compatible cartridge built to the 330-5846 specification — not a drilled-and-refilled shell and not a Dell original. It's sold under our Clever Supplies brand and made to deliver the same 18,000-page rated yield in the printers it fits.

What if the cartridge underperforms or a print defect shows up?

Every 330-5846 we sell carries a one-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year as well — the details are on our shipping & returns page. If output fades or streaks well before the yield runs out, contact us rather than working around it; that's exactly what the coverage is for.

How fast will it get here, and who do I call with a question?

Orders ship from whichever of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — gets it to you fastest. Support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and you can browse the rest of the range on our Dell toner page.
