Frequently Asked Questions

What does the 2-pack actually save compared with buying singles?

Two single 310-7890 cartridges bought one at a time cost $175.78. This 2-pack is $157.30, so you keep $18.48, and the per-cartridge price drops from $87.89 to $78.65. Across the pack's combined 20,000-page rating, black printing works out to roughly 0.79 cents a page instead of about 0.88 cents buying singly.

What exactly is in the box?

Two identical compatible black cartridges, both carrying the 310-7890 code and each rated at 10,000 pages, for the Dell Color Laser 5110, 5110cn and 5110n. There are no color cartridges in this pack — it is a black-only bundle, because black is the position a 5110 workgroup burns through fastest.

How should we use the second cartridge — install both, or keep one back?

Keep one back. The 5110 has a single black slot, so the second cartridge is your shelf spare: when the working cartridge fades, the replacement is already in the building and the printer is down for minutes, not days. Store the spare sealed, upright and out of direct sunlight, and use the older stock first when the next pack arrives.

How far ahead does 20,000 pages of black actually plan?

At 1,000 black pages a month, this pack covers close to 20 months of printing; at 3,000 a month it is gone in under seven. Framing it as reams helps too — 20,000 pages is 40 reams of paper. If your 5110's monthly volume is anywhere in that range, one order keeps black toner off your purchasing list for a long stretch.

Who should not buy the 2-pack?

Anyone whose 5110 is close to retirement, or whose black volume is a few hundred pages a year. A single cartridge already lasts that kind of user well over a year, and a spare bought today may never be opened. The pack earns its discount in busy offices; light users are better served by the single 310-7890 and ordering again when it finally runs dry.

What protection and support come with the pack?

Both cartridges are compatibles rather than Dell originals, and both are backed the same way: a one-year warranty plus free returns for a full year if a cartridge fails or disappoints, as set out on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses, support answers Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 Central, and the wider range lives on our Dell toner page.

About This 310-7890 Black 2-Pack

This bundle pairs two compatible 310-7890 black cartridges for the Dell Color Laser 5110, 5110cn and 5110n — 10,000 rated pages each, 20,000 pages of black in total, at $157.30 for the pair. That is $78.65 a cartridge and roughly 0.79 cents a page, with $18.48 saved against buying the same two cartridges one at a time. One goes in the printer, one waits on the shelf, and a busy 5110 never has to pause for a toner delivery.
