Frequently Asked Questions
What does each drum unit in this 2 pack actually cost?
The two 330-2663 drum units in the box come to $44.27 each at the $88.54 pack price. Each drum is rated at 30,000 pages, so the drum's share of your printing cost works out to roughly 0.15 cents per page across its life — the drum is the long-distance part of the printing system, and this pack prices it that way.
How many pages will the pair cover before both are used up?
Sixty thousand pages in total: 30,000 from the first drum and another 30,000 from the second. To picture it, that is 120 standard reams of paper printed through one printer. Most small offices measure a drum's life in years rather than months, so for many buyers this pack is a buy-it-and-forget-it purchase rather than a recurring one.
How can I tell it is the drum wearing out and not something else?
The 330-2663 is the unit that lays the image onto the page, so when its surface wears, the faults print in the same places: a line or spot that repeats down the sheet, streaks that survive a cartridge change, gray background shading, or an overall tired, uneven look to the print. If you swap in a fresh toner cartridge and the defect stays identical, the drum has reached the end of its 30,000-page life and it is time to fit the next unit from this pack.
Why stock a spare drum instead of ordering one when the printer stops?
Because a drum rarely fails at a convenient moment — it fades gradually, then one day the output is unusable mid-job. With the second 330-2663 already on the shelf, the changeover takes minutes and the printer is straight back to work. Unopened drum units store fine in a cool, dry cupboard away from direct light, so there is no penalty for having the spare sitting ready.
What warranty and returns cover come with these drum units?
These are compatible Clever Supplies drum units, built to the 330-2663 specification rather than sold as original Dell parts. Both units are covered by a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, so if a drum underperforms within that year you can send it back at no cost — the details are on our shipping and returns page.
