Frequently Asked Questions

Why do the color cartridges in this 1250C set run out before the black one?

Because they start with less toner on paper. The black cartridge (810WH) is rated at 2,000 pages, while the cyan (C5GC3), magenta (XMX5D) and yellow (WM2JC) cartridges are each rated at 1,400 pages. On top of that, most everyday documents are mostly black text with only splashes of color, yet every color page draws on all three color cartridges at once. So in a typical Dell Color Laser 1250c, expect the colors to call for replacement first and plan your reorders around them, not around the black.

What does one cartridge in this set actually cost?

The full four-cartridge set is $46.23, which works out to an average of $11.56 per cartridge. Spread over the rated yields, the black side of your printing costs roughly 0.58 cents per page at that average, while color pages cost roughly 0.83 cents per page per color cartridge — the honest arithmetic of a small color laser: color costs more per page than black, and this set keeps both numbers low.

Which printers does this set fit?

This set is made for Dell's compact color laser family: the Color Laser 1250c, 1350cnw, 1355cn, 1355cnw, 1755nf, 1755nfw, C1760nw and C1765nf. If your machine is one of those models, the 810WH black and the C5GC3, XMX5D and WM2JC color cartridges are the cartridges it takes. This listing is written for the 1250c, but the set itself is the same across that family.

How long will one set last in a home office?

That depends on your monthly volume, but the ratings give you a yardstick. At about 150 pages a month — a light home-office pace — the 1,400-page color cartridges cover roughly nine months, and the 2,000-page black stretches past a year. At 300 pages a month, halve those figures. Rated yields assume about 5% page coverage, so photo-heavy or full-color documents will shorten the run, while plain text stretches it.

What happens if one cartridge in the set prints badly?

Every cartridge in this set is a Clever Supplies compatible cartridge — not a Dell original — and each one is covered by our 1-year warranty. If a cartridge streaks, fades or fails within that year, contact us and we will make it right. Returns are free for a full year as well; the full terms are on our shipping & returns page.

Where will my set ship from, and when can I reach support?

We ship from four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California — so your set leaves from the one that gets it to you fastest. If you need help choosing or troubleshooting, our support team is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central Time. You can browse the rest of the Dell range any time on our Dell toner page.

About This 1250C 4 Color Set

This is a complete four-cartridge set for the Dell Color Laser 1250c and its close relatives, built around Dell's high-yield part numbers: the 810WH black (2,000 pages), C5GC3 cyan, XMX5D magenta and WM2JC yellow (1,400 pages each). At $46.23 for the set — about $11.56 a cartridge — it restocks every slot in the printer in one order, with the black deliberately rated higher than the colors because that is how these machines actually consume toner. As a compatible set it carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, and it ships from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA.
