Frequently Asked Questions
Our Dell 3115 has been running for years. Is a full set still a sensible buy for a machine of its age?
It is, precisely because the set is the economical way to keep a proven machine in service. The 3115's toner family — 310-8092 black, 310-8094 cyan, 310-8096 magenta and 310-8098 yellow, each rated at 8,000 pages — gives the printer a long, known runway for $312.58. The alternative calculation is replacing a working department printer outright. As long as the machine is mechanically sound, renewing all four slots at once is the cheapest capacity you can buy: one session, and the printer is back to full strength on every color.
What exactly does this set contain?
Four high-yield compatible cartridges, one per slot: the black is part number 310-8092, the cyan is 310-8094, the magenta is 310-8096 and the yellow is 310-8098. Unusually for a color family, all four carry the same rating — 8,000 pages each at the standard 5% coverage. That balance matters on the 3115, a machine that typically handles a department's mixed diet of documents, reports and graphics: no single slot is engineered to be the short-lived one.
What does the set work out to per page?
Divide $312.58 by four cartridges: about $78.15 each. Divide that by the 8,000-page rating: roughly 0.98 cents per page per slot. For a finance-minded office, that sub-cent figure is the argument for keeping the 3115 fed — the consumable cost of running this older workhorse stays low and, just as importantly, stays predictable, because a full set renewal is a single known line item rather than a drip of emergency purchases.
Only the black looks tired on our 3115. Should I replace just that one?
You can — the black 310-8092 does the heavy lifting in most offices and often finishes first. But weigh the interruption cost: if the cyan 310-8094, magenta 310-8096 and yellow 310-8098 have been in the machine through the same years of work, their ratings are substantially consumed too, and each will demand its own change session soon. The set trades four future interruptions for one planned stop. If the colors were replaced recently, a single black is the sensible buy; if nobody remembers when they were changed, the set is.
What protection comes with the set?
A 1-year warranty on every cartridge and 1-year free returns if a cartridge does not perform as it should — the details are on our shipping and returns page. These are compatible cartridges, not Dell-manufactured ones, and on an older machine that backing is doubly relevant: it means the risk sits with the cartridges' performance, not with your decision to keep the printer running.
Where does the set ship from, and can we reach a person?
From one of our four US warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — whichever is closest to you. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST for questions about installation or output quality. The rest of the compatible range for the 3115 and its sister models is collected on our Dell toner page.
