Frequently Asked Questions

We print invoices and statements in runs. What does a run cost us?

With this C120BK at $32.42 and a 5,000-page rating, a page costs about 0.65 cents — so a 500-page invoice run costs roughly $3.25 in toner. That is the figure that matters for billing paperwork: the Canon 120 keeps per-document costs low enough that printing in-house never needs a second thought.

Does heavy text coverage change the yield?

Yes, honestly. The 5,000-page rating assumes typical office pages; invoices and statements packed with lines, tables and logos use more toner per sheet than a light memo. Expect somewhat fewer pages from a C120BK on dense billing work — but the cost per page stays low, and the rating is still the right yardstick for comparing cartridges.

What do I check before ordering for the D1170?

One thing: the cartridge code. The imageCLASS D1170 takes the Canon 120, listed as C120BK — a single black cartridge for all of its printing. If the code on your old cartridge reads 120, this is its compatible replacement.

Mid-run, pages start fading. What now?

Pause the run, remove the cartridge and rock it gently from side to side — the remaining toner redistributes and print usually darkens back up for the rest of the job. If pages stay pale after that, the C120BK is genuinely empty and it is swap time; a two-minute change, and the run continues.

What if a cartridge underperforms in the middle of our billing cycle?

It is covered. Our compatible cartridges carry a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so a dud does not become your problem to absorb. Terms are on the shipping and returns page, support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and we ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA so replacements are not crossing the country.

Is it worth stocking more than one?

For billing work, yes — an empty printer on statement day is a real cost, and the multi-pack versions of this same Canon 120 cartridge cut the per-cartridge price well below $32.42. One spare minimum; a pack if your runs are monthly and heavy.
