Frequently Asked Questions

My imageCLASS D1120 has been running for years. Is it still worth feeding?

If it still prints cleanly, absolutely — and this is the cartridge that keeps the maths on your side. A compatible C120BK costs $32.42 and is rated for 5,000 pages, so your D1120 keeps producing black-and-white documents at about 0.65 cents a page instead of you pricing up a replacement machine you do not need yet.

Which toner does the D1120 take?

The Canon 120 black cartridge — the C120BK listed here. It is the only cartridge the machine uses: one black unit handles everything the D1120 prints, so there is no set of colours to keep track of or replace separately.

Older machine, compatible cartridge — should I expect trouble?

This cartridge is built as a compatible equivalent of the Canon 120, made to seat and print in place of the original. Long-serving printers are exactly where compatibles make sense: the machine has already proven itself, and your running cost drops to roughly 0.65 cents a page. And if this particular cartridge disappoints, it is covered — see the warranty answer below.

How many pages will I honestly get?

The C120BK is rated at 5,000 pages. Dense pages — solid text documents, forms with heavy coverage — will land you under the rating; light memos and drafts will carry you past it. For a D1120 in ordinary office service, a single cartridge typically covers months of work either way.

What is covered if the cartridge misbehaves?

Our compatible cartridges come with a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. The full terms are on the shipping and returns page. Support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders ship from our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses.

Should I keep a spare for a machine of this age?

One spare is cheap insurance against a deadline-day empty printer, and toner stores well sealed in a cool, dry place. Many D1120 owners buy the multi-pack versions of this cartridge for exactly that reason — the per-cartridge price falls as the pack grows.
