Frequently Asked Questions

Our D1150 handles the front desk's paperwork all day. How long will one cartridge last?

This C120BK is rated for 5,000 pages. A front desk printing a few hundred pages a week — letters, copies of documents, daily forms — will typically get several months from one cartridge. At $32.42, that is reception paperwork running at roughly 0.65 cents a page, which is the kind of number nobody has to apologise for in a budget meeting.

What is the cartridge called when I reorder?

Ask for the Canon 120, code C120BK. That is the single black toner cartridge the imageCLASS D1150 uses for everything it prints. Keeping the code on a note by the machine saves the usual scramble when the low-toner warning appears mid-afternoon.

When the warning shows, how much printing do I really have left?

Toner-low warnings arrive with a reserve still in the cartridge — they are a prompt to order, not a dead stop. Take the C120BK out and rock it gently side to side to level the remaining powder, and you will usually coax out a good run of clean pages while the replacement travels from one of our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses.

Why choose this compatible over the original Canon 120?

Because the D1150's work is everyday black-and-white paperwork, and this compatible C120BK delivers the same 5,000-page rating at a compatible price. The saving is not a rounding error across a year of front-desk printing — and the cartridge is still backed by a warranty, which is the answer to the usual worry about non-original supplies.

What exactly backs this cartridge?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, the same cover we put on all our compatible cartridges. The details live on our shipping and returns page, and a person can walk you through them Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

Can I hold a spare at the desk?

Yes — toner is dry powder and stores happily sealed in its packaging in a desk cupboard, away from heat. One spare C120BK on hand turns a toner emergency into a two-minute cartridge swap, which at a front desk is worth more than the shelf space costs.
