Frequently Asked Questions

What does the second cartridge in this pack really cost?

Do the subtraction: a single Canon 118 is $35.60, and this 2 pack is $52.73 — so the second cartridge effectively costs you $17.13, less than half the single price. Averaged out, each cartridge in the pack is $26.37 instead of $35.60, a saving of $18.47 against buying two singles. This is the honest structure of every multi-pack we sell: the first cartridge carries most of the cost, and the spares get progressively cheaper. If you know you will use two cartridges within the next year or so, the 2 pack simply buys the second one at a steep discount.

How many pages do I get in total?

Each Canon 118 (2662B001AA) is rated at 3,400 pages, so the pair covers up to 6,800 pages at the standard 5% coverage basis. That drops the cost per page from about 1.05 cents with a single to roughly 0.78 cents with this pack. For an office printing 500 black pages a month, 6,800 pages is more than a year of printing handled in one order — one invoice, one delivery, no mid-year toner emergencies.

Should the spare sit in the printer room or a cupboard?

A cupboard near the printer is ideal — close enough that whoever changes the cartridge does not have to hunt for it. Keep it in its sealed bag, stored flat, in a cool dry spot out of direct sunlight. A sealed compatible cartridge waits patiently for well over a year; there is no clock ticking on an unopened one. Write the arrival date on the box and it becomes self-managing: when the first cartridge fades, the spare is right there, already paid for at the lower pack price.

Does the pack fit the same printers as the single?

Identical cartridges, identical fit. The Canon 118 works in the imageCLASS MF8350 and MF8350CDN, MF8380 and MF8380CDW, MF8330 and MF8330CDN, MF8580CDW, plus the LBP7200, LBP7200CDN, LBP7660 and LBP7660CDN printers — anywhere the part number 2662B001AA is specified. The 2 pack is purely a pricing and convenience format: same cartridge, same 3,400-page rating, bought two at a time.

What if one of the two cartridges is faulty?

Each cartridge is covered individually by our 1-year warranty, and the pack carries 1-year free returns — a bad first cartridge does not affect the standing of the second one, and you will not be asked to return a good cartridge because its partner failed. Full terms are on the shipping and returns page, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you want to talk it through.

Who is the 2 pack the wrong choice for?

Honestly? Anyone printing under about 150 pages a month. At that rate a single cartridge lasts close to two years, and tying up money in a spare you will not touch until 2028 makes little sense — buy the single and reorder when it fades. The 2 pack earns its keep in offices with steady, predictable volume where running out mid-week is a genuine problem, not a theoretical one.
