Frequently Asked Questions

Who actually goes through three black cartridges?

Offices whose color printer spends most of its life printing black. Contracts, invoices, packing lists, letters — the everyday output of an ImageClass LBP612Cdw or MF632Cdw is overwhelmingly black text, and the color cartridges can sit almost untouched while the black is replaced again and again. If your 045HBK is a cartridge you reorder several times a year rather than once, a 3-pack matches how you actually consume it: one installed, two in reserve, no reorder errands in between.

What does the 3-pack bring the per-cartridge price down to?

Three singles would cost $97.47. The 3-pack is $60.49, which works out at $20.16 per cartridge and saves you $36.98 against buying them one at a time. Across the pack's combined rating of up to 8,400 pages, the per-page cost lands at roughly 0.72 cents — the cheapest way to buy this cartridge short of the 5-pack. Each of the three is the full high-yield 045HBK, rated at 2,800 pages.

How long does 8,400 pages of cover actually last?

At about 700 black pages a month, the pack covers roughly a year. At 1,500 pages a month — a genuinely busy small office — expect around five to six months. Think of it as buying a season or a year of black toner in a single order, depending on your pace. Those figures use the standard 5% coverage rating for the 2,800-page yield, so dense documents will pull the real number down somewhat.

Is there any risk in stocking three cartridges at once?

Very little. The cartridges are individually sealed, and toner does not go off in the box — a spare kept flat in a cool, dry cupboard stays ready for a long time. The practical points are storage, not shelf life: keep the boxes away from heat and sunlight, and open each cartridge only when the printer asks for it. If your printing needs change altogether, unopened cartridges are still returnable under the cover described below.

Can one 3-pack serve more than one printer?

Yes. The 045HBK is the black cartridge for the ImageClass LBP612Cdw, ImageClass MF632Cdw and ImageClass MF634Cdw alike, so a pack can be shared across a mixed fleet of those machines — two for the busy one, one for the quiet one, or any other split. There is nothing pack-specific about the cartridges themselves; they are three ordinary 045H units in one order.

What cover do all three cartridges come with?

The same as everything we sell: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, applied per cartridge rather than per order. A unit that fails in its first year goes back at no cost to you whether it was the first one you installed or the last spare out of the cupboard. Full terms are on our shipping and returns page, and our support team is around Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This Canon 045H Black 3-Pack

Three high-yield Canon 045H blacks (045HBK) for the ImageClass machines that run on the 045 family — up to 8,400 pages in total at about 0.72 cents a page. For scale: a single standard-yield Canon 045 costs the same $32.49 as one of these singles do separately, yet prints 1,400 pages; this pack prints six times that. Orders leave from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses, and the matching 045H colors sit in our Canon toner range.
