What is inside the box?

1 Black + 1 Cyan + 1 Magenta + 1 Yellow — every cartridge an Ultra High Yield LC3039: black LC3039BK, cyan LC3039C, magenta LC3039M, yellow LC3039Y. Yields are per cartridge: up to 6,000 pages for black and 5,000 pages per color (ISO/IEC 24711). We never add the colors together into a single total.

Which printers does this set fit?

The seven large-platform INKvestment models on Brother's official LC3037/LC3039 list: HL-J6000DW, MFC-J5845DW, MFC-J5845DW XL, MFC-J5945DW, MFC-J6545DW, MFC-J6545DW XL and MFC-J6945DW.

Will these fit the small INKvestment printers (MFC-J995DW, MFC-J805DW)?

No — those machines take the LC3033/LC3035 platform. The yield figures match exactly on paper (6,000/5,000 at this tier), which is why the two platforms get confused; the cartridge bodies and slots are different.

Will my printer recognize these compatible cartridges?

This cartridge carries a new compatible chip that reports ink levels to the printer. Brother's own support guidance for this generation — its “Cannot Detect” / “Cannot Detect Ink Volume” pages — states plainly that with non-genuine ink the machine may or may not detect the cartridge or its ink volume, and that Brother cannot guarantee optimum performance and reliability with ink of other specifications. We print that warning here instead of promising recognition we cannot guarantee: seat the cartridge firmly until it clicks, keep fingers off the chip contacts, and if a detection message appears, remove and reseat the cartridge and restart the printer.

How does LC3039 compare with LC3037?

LC3039 is the Ultra High Yield tier of the large platform: 6,000 pages black and 5,000 per color, against 3,000/1,500 for the LC3037 Super High Yield tier. Same seven printers, same slots, tiers mixable color by color.

A note about the cartridges that came with my printer?

Brother's own guide for the MFC-J5845DW XL states that the in-box starter cartridges deliver roughly 85% of an LC3039 black and about 75% of an LC3039 color — so a first refill with this full LC3039 set lasts noticeably longer than the starter set did.

Can I install one color now and keep the rest sealed?

Yes. Each slot is independent; keep unopened cartridges sealed until needed, and an LC3039 color can run beside LC3037 cartridges in the other slots.

Is this a genuine Brother product?

No — these are Clever Supplies compatible cartridges built to the LC3039 specifications, each with a new compatible chip, labeled compatible on the box and on this page.

Do you sell LC3037 or LC3039 single cartridges?

Not at this time: on the large platform we list this LC3039 Set of 4, where the reference price was verified. LC3037 singles are a decision item in our build notes — their reference single price could not be verified, so no price was invented for them.

What should I check before ordering?

Confirm your model is one of the seven large-platform printers and that your old cartridges read LC3037 or LC3039. If they read LC3033/LC3035, LC3017/LC3019 or LC3029, this set will not fit — and note the newer MFC-J5855DW/J5955DW/J6555DW/J6955DW generation takes LC406, not LC3039.

How should the cartridges be installed?

One slot at a time: release the old cartridge with its lever, slide the new one in until it clicks, keep fingers off the chip contacts, and run a print quality check after a full set change.
