MFC-J6545DW XL

Brother MFC-J6545DW XL printer

The Brother MFC-J6545DW XL is the XL-bundled variant of the J6545DW — a separate model listing on exactly the same cartridges. It runs the large INKvestment cartridge platform: LC3037 Super High Yield (3,000 pages black / 1,500 per color) below LC3039 Ultra High Yield (6,000 black / 5,000 per color), rated in accordance with ISO/IEC 24711. Below is the Clever Supplies compatible LC3039 Set of 4 for this printer — chipped, and covered by a lifetime warranty.

MFC-J6545DW XL Ink — The Large Platform, and the Identical-Yield Trap

Brother’s official list for the LC3037/LC3039 family names exactly seven printers, and the MFC-J6545DW XL is one of them. The MFC-J6545DW XL is the XL-bundled variant of the MFC-J6545DW — a separate model listing on exactly the same cartridges. Both tiers fit this machine and mix freely by slot: LC3037 Super High Yield (3,000 pages black / 1,500 per color) below LC3039 Ultra High Yield (6,000 black / 5,000 per color), rated in accordance with ISO/IEC 24711.

A separate listing on the same cartridges, the MFC-J6545DW XL still shares its base model's numerical trap. The small INKvestment printers (MFC-J805DW, MFC-J995DW and their siblings) post exactly the same yield figures — 3,000/1,500 and 6,000/5,000 — but take LC3033/LC3035 cartridges with different bodies that will not install here, just as LC3037/LC3039 cartridges will not install in them. Buy by cartridge family and model list, never by yield figure alone. Similar-looking LC3017/LC3019 and LC3029 cartridges do not fit either — and the newer MFC-J5855DW-generation machines take LC406, not LC3039.

Because this XL-bundled variant runs the identical slots as its base model, its tier decision is a pure question of workload. An LC3039 color cartridge carries more than three times the fill of its LC3037 counterpart (5,000 against 1,500 pages), and the black carries twice as much (6,000 against 3,000). For a machine that prints every day, the Ultra tier is the long-run choice; for lighter use, the Super High tier covers the same slots at the lower fill.

Which LC3039 should you buy?

  • The shelf for this printer: the LC3039 Set of 4 ($89.94) — one of each color, each cartridge chipped, at 6,000 black / 5,000 per color.
  • Singles: LC3037 single cartridges are not listed on this platform — their reference single price could not be verified, and no price was invented for them.

Chip, ink and everyday use

Every cartridge in the set carries a new compatible chip. Brother's own "Cannot Detect Ink Volume" guidance for this generation states that, with non-genuine ink, the machine may or may not detect the cartridge — we print that warning for this variant rather than promise recognition. Lifetime warranty with 1-year free returns on every cartridge.
