HL-J6000DW

The Brother HL-J6000DW is the platform's only HL model — a print-only machine among all-in-ones, on the same LC3037/LC3039 cartridges. It runs the large INKvestment cartridge platform: LC3037 Super High Yield (3,000 pages black / 1,500 per color) below LC3039 Ultra High Yield (6,000 black / 5,000 per color), rated in accordance with ISO/IEC 24711. Below is the Clever Supplies compatible LC3039 Set of 4 for this printer — chipped, and covered by a lifetime warranty.

HL-J6000DW Ink — The Large Platform, and the Identical-Yield Trap

Brother’s official list for the LC3037/LC3039 family names exactly seven printers, and the HL-J6000DW is one of them. The HL-J6000DW is the platform’s only HL model — a print-only machine among all-in-ones, on the same cartridges as the six MFC models. Both tiers fit this machine and mix freely by slot: LC3037 Super High Yield (3,000 pages black / 1,500 per color) below LC3039 Ultra High Yield (6,000 black / 5,000 per color), rated in accordance with ISO/IEC 24711.

Being the platform's only print-only model does not protect the HL-J6000DW from its family's numerical trap. The small INKvestment printers — MFC-J805DW, MFC-J995DW and their siblings — publish exactly the same yield figures, 3,000/1,500 and 6,000/5,000, yet they take LC3033/LC3035 cartridges in different bodies that will not install here, just as LC3037/LC3039 cartridges will not install in them. Judge by cartridge family and model list, never by the yield figure alone. The similar-looking LC3017/LC3019 and LC3029 cartridges do not fit either, and the newer MFC-J5855DW-generation machines take LC406, not LC3039.

Read the two tiers against how this print-only machine actually runs. An LC3039 color cartridge holds more than three times the fill of its LC3037 counterpart — 5,000 pages against 1,500 — and the black holds twice as much, 6,000 against 3,000. On a printer working every day, that gap makes the Ultra tier the long-run choice; on one used lightly, the Super High tier covers the same slots at the lower fill and is changed more often.

Which LC3039 should you buy?

  • The shelf for this printer: the LC3039 Set of 4 ($89.94) — one of each color, each cartridge chipped, at 6,000 black / 5,000 per color.
  • Singles: LC3037 single cartridges are not listed on this platform — their reference single price could not be verified, and no price was invented for them.

Chip, ink and everyday use

A new compatible chip rides in every cartridge of the set. Brother's own "Cannot Detect Ink Volume" guidance for this generation is printed here rather than softened: with non-genuine ink, the machine may or may not detect the cartridge, so we state that warning instead of promising recognition. Lifetime warranty with 1-year free returns on every cartridge.
