Will these fit the large A3 INKvestment printers (MFC-J6545DW, HL-J6000DW)?

No — those machines take the LC3037/LC3039 platform. The yield figures are identical on paper, which is exactly why this mistake is common; the cartridge bodies and slots are different.

Will my printer recognize these compatible cartridges?

This cartridge carries a new compatible chip that reports ink levels to the printer. Brother's own support guidance for this generation — its “Cannot Detect” / “Cannot Detect Ink Volume” pages — states plainly that with non-genuine ink the machine may or may not detect the cartridge or its ink volume, and that Brother cannot guarantee optimum performance and reliability with ink of other specifications. We print that warning here instead of promising recognition we cannot guarantee: seat the cartridge firmly until it clicks, keep fingers off the chip contacts, and if a detection message appears, remove and reseat the cartridge and restart the printer.

Can I install just one color now and keep the rest sealed?

Yes. Each slot is independent and the tiers mix freely — an LC3035 black beside LC3033 colors is a normal setup on this platform. Keep unopened cartridges sealed in their packaging until needed.

How does LC3035 compare with LC3033?

LC3035 is the Ultra High Yield tier: 6,000 pages black and 5,000 per color, against 3,000/1,500 for LC3033 Super High Yield. Same five printers, same slots — a bigger fill in each cartridge.

Is the MFC-J815DW (non-XL) covered?
