Frequently Asked Questions

What is this DR730 4-pack for?

Four DR730 drum units — 48,000 pages of drum coverage for the TN760 platform. The working price in the pack puts each drum near $16.49 and the drum's cost at about 0.14¢ per page, against $28.55 and 0.24¢ bought one at a time. It is a stockroom purchase: fleets and heavy single machines, not occasional printers.

Is there toner in these units?

None. A drum is the imaging surface that a toner cartridge — TN760 or TN730 — clicks into. This box is the long-life half of the system only. If your warning says toner, this is not the part; if it says drum, it is exactly the part, four times over.

Which printers will consume these drums?

The HL-L2325DW, HL-L2350DW, HL-L2370DW, HL-L2370DW XL, HL-L2390DW, HL-L2395DW, the DCP-L2550DW, and the MFC-L2690DW, MFC-L2710DW, MFC-L2717DW, MFC-L2750DW and MFC-L2750DW XL. The MFC-L2730DW belongs on the list too.

Who gets through four drums?

An office running several of these printers, or one machine printing thousands of pages a month. At 12,000 pages per drum, a single printer doing 4,000 pages a month finishes a drum per quarter — the pack is its year. Multi-printer sites simply draw units as each machine calls for one.

How does the saving stack up?

Four singles would total $114.20. Bought as this pack, the same coverage has been priced around $65.97 — each drum effectively $16.49. The percentage saving is the largest in the drum range, because warehousing four identical units is efficient for everyone in the chain.

Will units three and four survive a year or more in storage?

Yes, with one rule: keep them sealed, dark and dry. The drum surface is light-sensitive, so the bag stays on until fitting day. Toner-platform drums do not have a use-by clock in any practical sense — a unit fitted in year two performs like one fitted in week two.

How do I manage counters across a fleet?

Reset the drum counter on each machine at each fitting, and note the date on the box. With several printers drawing from one stock box, the dated-box habit is what keeps one machine's fresh drum from being "borrowed" by another desk mid-cycle.

Does one bad unit compromise the pack?

No — each drum is individually covered by a 1-year warranty and the year's free returns on the shipping & returns page. Fit another unit, contact us about the faulty one, and the fleet keeps moving.

How many toner cartridges does this box indirectly cover?

At roughly four TN760 cartridges per drum, four drums stand behind about sixteen high-yield toners — or around forty TN730s. Owners stocking this pack usually mirror it with toner multi-packs so the whole platform runs untouched for a very long stretch.

What if my volume drops and the pack outlasts my plans?

Unopened units are covered by free returns for a full year, and the drums fit every machine on the platform list, so a change of printer within the family does not strand them. Past that, the drum 2-pack is the smaller commitment for lighter futures.
