Frequently Asked Questions

How does this 5 pack change the yearly toner budget?

Five GPR-22 singles cost $188.50 in total; this pack is $114.54, or $22.91 per cartridge — a saving of $73.96 that drops the running cost to roughly 0.27 cents per page across 42,000 pages. For an office that buys toner on an annual cycle, one order like this replaces four or five separate purchases and the emergency orders that usually come with them.

Is 42,000 pages a realistic amount for an imageRUNNER 1023 or 1025?

For a busy workgroup, yes. A compact machine printing 2,000 pages a month gets through about 24,000 pages a year, so this pack covers well over a year and a half. Spread across two machines from the 1023/1025 family — the 1023, 1023iF, 1023N, 1025, 1025iF and 1025N all take the same GPR-22 (0386B003AA) — it disappears faster still. A quiet home office, honestly, will not need five.

Does buying five at once risk cartridges going stale?

Not when they stay sealed. Keep the boxes flat in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources, and work through them in arrival order. The practical risk with a large pack is not the toner — it is the office replacing the printer before the stock is used, which is worth a moment's thought before ordering for a machine near retirement.

What if our printer is replaced mid-pack?

That is the one real downside of bulk buying, and we will not pretend otherwise: GPR-22 cartridges fit only the 1023/1025 family, so a move to a different model strands the remaining stock. If a printer refresh is on the horizon, buy the 3 pack instead and keep the commitment short. Unopened-cartridge questions are covered by the terms on our shipping and returns page.

What backing does each cartridge in the pack have?

The same as a single: a 1-year warranty against defects plus 1-year free returns if a cartridge does not perform, applied per cartridge rather than per order. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you want to talk through a problem before sending anything back.

Text is crisp but the page edges are dirty — cartridge issue?

Dirty edges with clean text usually mean toner dust has built up inside the printer from months of use, not a failing cartridge. A careful vacuum of the cartridge bay with the machine off, and a check that the current cartridge is seated fully, clears most cases. If a fresh cartridge from this pack produces the same dirty edges, the machine wants a service clean.
