Frequently Asked Questions

How long will 8,400 pages last a small workgroup?

The Canon GPR-22 (part number 0386B003AA) is rated at up to 8,400 pages. For a compact workgroup machine printing around 800 pages a month, that is roughly ten months of work; at 1,500 pages a month it is closer to five or six. The rating assumes 5% page coverage, so report-heavy offices with dense pages will see less, and plain-text teams will see more. At $37.70, the running cost is about 0.45 cents per page.

Which printers take the GPR-22?

This cartridge serves Canon's imageRUNNER 1023, 1023iF, 1023N, 1025, 1025iF and 1025N compact multifunction printers. If your machine is one of that 1023/1025 family and its supply door or manual names the GPR-22, this is the cartridge. The part number 0386B003AA printed on your old cartridge is the definitive check.

Is one cartridge enough, or should a workgroup keep a spare?

A shared printer has a habit of running dry mid-job on the busiest day of the month. One cartridge in the machine plus one sealed spare in the drawer is the arrangement that avoids emergency orders. If your team prints steadily every week, the multipacks in this family lower the per-cartridge price considerably — but a single is the right start if you are trying a compatible cartridge in this machine for the first time.

Prints have a faint vertical line — what should I check?

A thin line running the length of every page often traces to a scratch or a toner spot on the cartridge's drum. Pull the cartridge and look along the drum surface without touching it; a visible mark in line with the print defect points to the cartridge. Try a spare if you have one. If the line survives a cartridge swap, the printer's optics or fuser need a service visit.

What warranty and returns come with this cartridge?

It carries a 1-year warranty against defects and 1-year free returns if it does not perform as it should — the same backing as every cartridge we sell. Full terms sit on our shipping and returns page, and our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

Where does the cartridge ship from, and how fast?

From whichever of our four US warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — is best placed for your address. Stock is held domestically, so your workgroup is not waiting on an overseas shipment when the printer stops.
